join the company while still young, but aware that they have a great responsibility: that of continuing to cultivate the love for the textile world in memory of their father, who unfortunately passed away very young, to then pass it on to future generations. They continue the tradition of the production of men's suit fabric, specializing in the use of pure virgin wool (so much so as to obtain the IWS pure virgin wool certification and keep it for over fifty years), and then also range to other noble and natural fibers such as linen, silk, which then leads them subsequently to start collaborating also with the clergy, for which they produce precious fabrics that will also be used by the Pope.
The main market, besides Italy, is the United States, which greatly appreciate the beautiful wool flannels produced by the Lanificio.
However, after the tragic fall of the Towers, Paolo, Piero and their sons, who in the meantime have joined the company, have to face a change of course, since obviously the collaboration with the United States suffers a disastrous decline, following the crisis brought about by the tragic event of the 2001.
Therefore, one begins to look around, to change the way of conceiving and seeing the product, to look beyond, trying to understand what the men's market needed and where it was moving.
And it is here that the first "fashion" collections begin to be conceived, which in addition to the traditional wool flannel open the door to new, fresher and more youthful fibers, such as linen, tencel, hemp, viscose.
A long-term vision which, year after year, has led Lanificio Giannetti Piero to position itself where it is now, in the medium-high and high-end men's fashion sector, collaborating with both luxury and sports brands and starting to emerge in those which are still the company's reference markets: France, England, Germany, Spain, Korea, Japan and the United States and, of course, Italy.
